If your like us our dog is “FAMILY” and you want only the best. It all comes down to the people involved. In the end you can’t pay someone to care. That being said, I’ve never felt more at ease leaving my Lab with anyone as I did with Laurie. She’s smart, detail oriented and has a huge heart for all animals. The meet & greet, scheduling, communication & ultimately the stay at her home went perfectly! She went the extra mile to make sure our dog had what she needed. Our dog came back tired & happy ,plus we were able to thoroughly enjoy our trip. Laurie is now our go-to-care provider. We fully recommend her and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I am the owner of 3 small dogs. Whenever my family traveled, and we left our dogs at a kennel, we couldn’t help but feeling both guilty & uneasy. There was something about that institutionalized setting, with the cages & cement floors, that made the whole experience seem traumatic for our dogs. We wanted them to feel comfy & cozy-and the typical kennel setting was exactly the opposite of that. That’s when we found “Touch of Luv” run by Laurie Peters. At Touch of Luv our dogs live in Laurie’s cozy, country home with a large, grassy backyard. Our dogs are cared for by Laurie-not a group of rotating, hourly employees. Laurie truly loves dogs, has volunteered at dog shelters, owns several dogs, & continually educates herself in the animal field. When I leave my dogs with Laurie, I truly feel that they are being well cared for and loved. Laurie even goes so far as sending me texts and videos of the dogs while I am away-which really helps ease my anxiety. I knew we had come to the right place when our one standoffish dog formed a bond with Laurie. Leaving your dogs with Laurie is like leaving your dogs at a friends house-not dropping them off with a bunch of strangers. In addition to the great care, Touch of Luv offers really reasonable rates (especially for multi-dogs)and very flexible drop off/pick up hours. Basically Laurie will work with you to find convenient times for bringing and picking up your dogs-unlike kennels where you are stuck with rigid schedules. Finding Touch of Luv has made traveling so much more enjoyable for our family. We no longer worry about our dogs while we are away.

A special thanks to Laurie who watched my Ryder for 7 days while I was on vacation. She kept in touch with me, sent pictures of my girl, she made leaving her so stress free. This is not a kennel! Your pet is treated like one of her own. They stay in her house , the yard is fenced in and they have friends to play with. The price is better then a kennel would charge to keep your pet in a run! I have known and been a customer of Laurie’s for almost 20 yrs. She has been my hairdresser, pet sitter to our dog Koda, & friend.
Laurie clearly loves dogs & cares about her human & canine clients. She truly cares about ALL animals and wants to make them feel as comfortable as possible while the owner is away. Our dog Koda, is part of the family and we would never leave him alone with someone we could not trust 100%. Laurie knows our dog, his behaviors & his personality as well as we do. We feel totally comfortable leaving Koda in her care while we go on vacation and really appreciate her tolerance of “separation anxiety” from his family.
